yes you can drive it with the decat on before mapping. If you`ve got a set of basic tools you just as well fit it yourself too mate its not difficult

Mine's had a decat for years without a remap and it's fine! As long as you stick with octane booster you will be fine.

not sure, I`d say anywhere local that does exhausts should have them, or a dealer or ebay if not

You might get a CEL light on which would be the downsteam O2 sensor complaining the CAT isn't working. This should be sorted in the mapping though.

Are you also de-catting the Up-Pipe (Assuming it's the Newage WRX we are talking about)?

Agree the octane booster would make it safe but best in this situation to just drive it off boost.. if you add booster and want it mapped without it will make the job of mapping it to fuel without booster difficult/guess work, and probably end up with an overly precautions map as a result.

just to add there is no problem with you fittint a de-cat with out re-map
I think i read on here at some stage if you keep on or below 1.0 bar there will be no prob
I have had a full de-cat fitted for over a year now but kept it steady untill i can raise the rest of the money for my re-map
