Question really wierd RR result, any ideas?

guys - ive have a 98 uk classic, here's the spec

STI Top mount intercooler
STI Hard Boost Kit
HKS SSV BOV
Green Panel Filter
Samco Blue Coolant Hoses
Samco Hose kit – various throughout
Samco Vacuum Hose
Radiator Heat Dissipater
H & S S/S Decat Centre Section
Tornado S/S back Box
I/C Spray that we never used on the day.

it pulled a genuine 286bhp on the rollers with standard boost, the ecu has never been opened or modded, how the heck did i get this figure? the rollers saw a rb320 get 325 and other cars get exactley the same figures on other RR.

am stumpted as to why mines so strong for so few mods.

you don't mention the turbo ??? Also why should it be over 280bhp while its only running standard boost on an untouched ECU ?? To be honest I would assume that is a good figure ?/

To be honest mate, and believe me, I take no pleasure in rainnig on your parade, that figure is rather likely to be overestimated. Even with a proper remap for a TD04, a decat DP, an uprated fuel punp and ported headers (all of which you seem to lack) 280 is by no means assured.

I don't believe you'd make anything like that figure running std boost i.e 0.9 bar on a TD04. You'd need more like 1.3 bar and appropriate fuel and ignition mapping to go with it. If you car is running higher than std boost on the std fuel pump with no mapping mods then you're in danger of melting a piston!

We need to see the boost profile really and have figures for your AFR to make a more informed comment, but something DEFINATELY isn't right here IMHO!

Sorry!
