hi guys,
had my 06 wrx over a year now, and im thinking of starting to take the power up.
would like to get around 330 bhp.
what would peeps recon.
im thinking, new turbo, ecutek remap, exhaust, panel filter.
what would be the best turbo to use. also would i get away with a standard size bore decat down pipe, decat and then a blitz nurspec. or would i have to have it all 3" bore.
want the car safe and reliable for everyday use.
thoughts
Jamie (thanks in advance)

I have a 06/56 WRX 2.5 377 Bhp 380 lb ft torque, my mods pre remap were:
VF 43 Turbo
Revolution 3 inch full stainless exhaust system
Walbro 255 fuel pump
STi 8 topmount intercooler
Revolution K&N Apollo filter
Remapped by Andy F, run's 1.4 bar max boost, holds 1.1 Bar after 5000 Rpm![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Re-mapped at around 2500 miles, now has 11000 on the clock, it's my everyday car 6 miles each way to work and kids runaround as needed night's weekends etc, really pleased with the transformation

wow, what did you do about the under tray on the scoop for the top mount intercooler, i have an sti 8 intercooler sitting their waiting to go on, but was told due to me having drive by wire, it wouldnt fit properly, did try and match it up and the right hand side didnt seem to match up with the arm from the engine that holds the intercooler.
that is really good, take it, it has decat downpipe and second decat. did you change the uppipe.

STi 8 topmount fits no problem, nearside Black Bracket needs to be extended by 40mm to line up with mounting point, cut it approx 40 mm from centre point of captive nut, weld in 40mm angle shaped to match, offside gold coloured bracket needs to be bent backwards bt 40mm to line up with mounting point.
Revolution 3inch de-cat system, removes both cat's, only 2 on the 2.5 WRX

Stock Subaru up-pipe retained as it's a smooth internal bore and correct size for engine size and Turbo inlet

Cheers for that.
is the VF43 turbo, the one that comes standard on my06+ uk sti.
i thought these where only good for 350bhp. i was thinking of a TD05 20g from andy f.
but if i can get hold of a cheap VF43, id prob go for that and see if i can get 360 bhp.
so it seems the 2.5 wrx engine can take about 350 bhp on standard internals
many thanks for the input, good news.

For 340bhp I'd use a VF34, for 380bhp a 20G, for somewhere in between a VF43. Feeling brave on the std pistons ? then 400+ from a 321T with uprated injectors. I've mapped the 2.5 WRX with all the above options, the midrange torque of the 2.5 never fails to be impressive.
Assuming a full decat and Ecutek custom remap in each case and Sti intercooler for 340+ conversions
Even the OE TD04 can put out decent torque, typically peaking around 280bhp but still 330-350 torque on the std I/C and 2.5" sports cat or Prodrive system, quite a step up from std.
