Default Should i take off the induction kit? And other mods advice

Hi all, i have bought a MY95 WRX recently which has a pipercross induction kit fitted to it. After reading about, am i right in saying that i am better off replacing it with the standard air box and just upgrade the air filter?

Also, i am wanting to put on a VTA BOV, full exhaust system and get an ECU remap. Are there any suggestions or recommendations?

The main reason for ECU remap is so that i know it is all running properly and can be used on UK fuel instead of optimax(as it is not always as easy to get to for me). I believe it has a standard ECU, can this be mapped or changed in any way for what i want doing?

Thank you for any support

Sami

With the IK you could take it off or just build a heat sheild for it.
VTA bovs i wouldn't bother with (had a blitz one on my 93wrx and it started to **** up the fuelling causing it to stall ,run lumpy etc) but if you do want to fit one the HKS SSQV is meant to be a good choice.

Enduring Solutions Limited and check the list of their dealers (fully remppable or in some cases just a standalone chip soldered into the spare slot of your ecu).

exhausts loads of them about blitz,HKS,Apexi,Ninja,Afterburner,Hayward & Scott ,Revolution (i have one on my car and it's quite discreet)

Unless your engine is running around the 350 bhp figure, then the IK is a waste of time. Your actually loosing power cos it is sucking in the hot air from the engine.
Since the original air box is sealed it is only gonna get the cold air that is being fed to it.
Stick witht the air box and a good panel filter.

when i first bought my 1995 classic i fitted a piper cross panel filter and did'nt see any real gains. i have since replaced with a pipercross induction kit and also fitted an induction scoop and i have noticed real gain in power.in my personal experience i would choose the induction kit but it is your choice hope this helps.

I take it that the IK is only worth it when you have plenty of cold air being fed to it?
