![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
i have/had a problem with the CEL flashing and then staying on, i say had as the light is off at the moment!
connected a laptop and 3 error codes indicated misfires on 3 cylinders
spark plugs are 2k miles old and are ok so i bought 4 new packs
i changed them and the car would not start??
put the old packs back on and the car starts
the old and the new packs have the same part number FK0140-12v strange or what?
someone has told me that some types of packs are programmable could the ones i have be for another scoob version??
BTW MY02 wrx
thanks
steve

thought of that
![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
its just that the engine made no attempt at starting/firing with all four so i swapped 2 packs on one side and it ran, but very rough
is there anyway of testing the packs off the car?
thanks

cannot help with the new coil packs... not sure if you want to hear this but the misfire code is possibly related to the neutral position sensor.. try logging the nps on the laptop.. see if it flicks to neutral whilst driving in gear..

cars are such a pain!!
things were so simple before ecu's
dont think its the new coil packs. whats the chance of all 4 being faulty???

yeh nice an snug, its quite difficult or even impossible to get the rubber down the side of the plug. when i removed them i heard the suction pop as the rubber came off the plug.
