no you dont need any special tools to do it. you may find that after driving a few miles once decatted that your engine warning light comes on. as it can throw up a fault in the sensor. my bugeyed did anyway but heard that most classic shapes are not affected

depending on age you may find removing the lambda a total pig, mine blob eye one seized in and i had to buy a new lambda as removal destroyed it. Also brought cel light on after a few weeks.
