Ye its only been 4 months since i have it and its gone, it looks like one or more of the pistons/rings as gone and big ends, one day gave it a good spank (as usual) and its was fine, next day started and died on me, oil filter came loose due to compression going to the sump, not good thing, engine turns but with no compression, ocassinaly starts but knocks and dies.
Going to start stripping today and see what do i find over the weekend but im ready for a new engine or complete rebuild.
Apparently is common, what about you guys, as anyone had the same?

wouldnt say its common, there are plenty of cars that have engine failure (I had a 1.6 Ford Onion that failed), its just that there is a cult following with the scoob so people mention it more if it happens then suddenly it starts that the engine is made of chocolate etc

Very easy to take an engine out, take it to bits and then put it back together and call it a rebuild. Could still be cr@p though.
I'd say the 'rebuilt' engine was on its way anyway and the fact that you skank the car everywhere it is no wonder that it has gone now.
It is a 12 yr old car and needs more mechanical sympathy than a new one if you expect it to last. (note this doesnt mean driving liking Miss Daisy)
