Default Standard dump valve (which way)

Recently fitted the standard dv back onto my 97 impreza, im not sure what way it should go on.
I have tried it both ways and the car runs fine except on one of them I get a slight chatter noise which I guess this is from the turbo meaning this way is wrong.
Does anyone have pictures of how it should be????
Or any body clearly explain setup.

thanks

Pipe in from the TMIC should go in the 'bottom' opposite the manifold vacuum signal, the exit out the side goes back to the intake pre turbo.

The way where it makes the chattery noise (as you say) is technically the wrong way.. Although.. that is the way I run mine as when on boost it pushes the valve closed as opposed to trying to push it open and potentially leak off boost pressure (like I've had on evo's)

so is it ok to run the dv back to front???
When it was this way the pick up was better, seemed less lag.

I was asking for this last week and didn't get any replies.
If you view my scooby theres a pic of the engine if thats any help.
The dump valve goes on the pipe that come of the intercooler(front right)
this is the bent bit of pipe and then theres the vac hose and a short straight bit that connects the outlet into the inlet side and the vac hose

The answer to your question is No . dont run it the wrong way round . the correct way is with the bottom pipe running down to the inlet manifold and the other to the intercooler !! the other way will not remove the pressure when you throttle off and thus slow down the rate if spin of the turbo .
If your dump valve leaks replace it it will be costing you power
