Firstly, can I thank the "author" of the below photograph, but it is an ideal specimen for what I'm trying to do.
I've just bought a set of Subaru door strips, in an attempt to prolong the lives of the doorskins of my car.
Now the question, how is the best way to stick them on? I personally think I'm better waiting until warmer weather, then cleaning the doors and using the attached self-adhesive strips.
Any recommendations?

Can't think what else you would use apart from the attatched adhesive strips
No need to wait until summer especially if you have a garage to work in. Don't do it in the rain though!....
-Dry position them first just to check they fit OK.
-Fit them in the centre of the doors with an even gap at each end, if you end up with the strip too close to the hinge end of the door it will rub when you open the door.
-Fit just below the groove along the bodywork and use this to check the strips are straight.
-Yes, clean the paint first ideally with something that will remove any wax.
-Warm the strips with a hairdryer (and the paintwork if you want.)
-The rubber is quite floppy so get some one to hold one end for you as you start at the other end carefully pressing down the adhesive and keeping it level as you go.
-If you **** up you can peel them off and restick a few times without any effect on the adhesive but warm again first.
good luck
