DOES APEXI POWER FC WORK WITHOUT THE COMMANDER ???

Thanks.
Thing is, even if I was to have the Commander, am I correct in thinking that the ONLY parameter I SHOULD be altering (if I wanted to, that is) is the boost pressure? - and that would, invariably, be to turn it down, not up!
Or does it offer other useful parameters that the user is 'allowed' to adjust? Obviously, I would never alter the maps.
Thanks, John.

I assumed by your post you were wanting the commander to map or tweak your own car ??? People usually map the apexi with a laptop as the commander was the old way of doing it! But the commander cant be locked so if you mess on with it

You've hit the nail on the head. That's exactly the angle I'm comng from, hence I'm not bothered about the Commander - I don't like the idea of me accidentally buggering up the maps and knackering the engine!... If the Commander's not there, then I can't!!!
I just needed to make sure the PFC physically worked correctly WITHOUT the Commander present, hence the original question ;-)

Other than monitoring for knock using the Commander's display, can you alter anything on the Commander to alleviate it e.g. ignition retard/richer fuelling? Or is it only the boost parameter that can be be altered by turning it down? What's available to the user to alter?

If you know what you are doing the commander is there to map the apexi ecu !! As it was there before software was sorted
The comander is like a SECS machine as it monitors that many things and you will have to press quite a few buttons before you have to worry
I was just making you aware that messing on with it will change ay map or settings that is in the ECU

I use mine to remove timing when I get stuck and have to fillup with crap fuel...
As well as boost, pops and bangs etc, these can all be adjusted IF you know what you are doing..
