Default Generic power steering fluid question

I say generic as I assume its the same for all cars, doing an engine swop on the girlfriends clio (2001 1.2 8v) I have removed the power steering pump, and it has lost all of the fluid, when reassembling is it a case of simply topping the fluid up to the levels on the reservoir, and letting it sort itself out?

Cheers

Top up then turn wheel lock to lock slowly several times to help it bleed through and top up again if needed.
