The possibility is that the clych fluid is getting very hot as it is right by the turbo and while the car is standing still (ie in traffic) the fluid can get hot. Happened in my UK tubo MY 1999.
Bled the clutch fluid off and replenished with DoT 5.1 brake fluid (from Halfords etc) and all was well for 2 years after that when the car was sold.
Simple thing to change, little cost and sure beats taking the box out!
Worth a try.

as 911 said prob fluid in clutch degrading mine had gone a milky kind of colour from heat and moisture,it has happened twice in 18 months so regular bleeding with dot 5.1 is a good idea.

Nice one guys will give it a go,is there any brand to use that is best or is it all the same,ie do you get what you pay for with the fluid?,
and how easy is it to change, where do you drain the fluid out from, and is it a pain to bleed up.
thanks again pete.

My exedy clutch does exactly the same, I put mine down to either fluid getting too hot or pressure plate getting to hot and pushing the piston back but I don't think that theory is physically possible.
More than likely the clutch fluid, I will be changing mine this weekend...
