Default Oldie / Newbie in need of a little "boost"!

Hi all i'm kind of a new / oldie member been out of the Subaru seen for a good few years and just managed to buy another one last week off a current member of the forum, Wraggy78. Don't know if any of you know the car? If not then its a MY99 Uk Turbo in Mica Blue with leather and the only mods being a set of RB5 alloy, Blitz Nur Spec back box and a boost gauge.

Now to the problem. Apologies if i appear to waffle on... Anyway, so i used to have a completely standard 1995 Import WRX which i know has a factory 260 BHP as opposed to the UK version of the time only producing 208 BHP and now the facelifted 99 model which i currently have has 215 BHP. Anyway my old car on acceleration used to give a real out of the seat feeling and push you hard back into the seat. I also had a mate who had a MY99 Turbo in blue again funnily enough and always wanted that one because it felt just as fast and was again standard but looked better being the face lifted model. So when i had the chance to buy this car and had an oppotunity the other night on a run to Manchester to open it up a bit was left a bit dissappointed with the lack of power it had as i was used to being in them and knew what they were capable of.
I was in contact with Wraggy just last night and so asked if he'd had a problem with the boost and he said something about the restrictor pill in the vacuum hose when he bought the car had been removed so had replaced it and that had sorted it. So he seemed to think that it was of correct performance now but i'm not sure it just doesn't feel quick enough i mean its not slow by any means but its lacking somewhat. On full throttle the boost gauge reads 0.9 bar which i believe is standard but then it drops a little to 0.5 and doesn't hold the pressure.
I had a search through previous posts and up came up all wraggys post about this same problem last year. I just dont think its fixed.
Was just wondering if anybody knew of any good Subaru specialists in the West Midlands area who know what they are doing and that i could trust to fix this problem. In the post members have mentioned Lambda sensors and MAF needing changing possibly but looking back through the history of the car its already had the following :

@ 87,067 miles

Spark Plugs
HT leads
Lambda Sensor
Air Flow Meter

@ 87,446 miles

Boost Test
Control Solennoid

Car is currently at 111,000 miles

Does this mean if its already had all these things done at that mileage which isn't too long ago really it could mean that its something worse? something pricier?!

Any help with these problems would be of great help and thanks in advance.

Andy

The MAF's are notoriously weak on these models. I usually go through 1 a year.

Would this also mean it would hesitate on acceleration (like a rocking effect) more when accelerating slowly rather than putting my foot to the floor.
