can anyone help
is there more the one type of kmh converter for a 93 wrx?

mine has a cable converter have a look on ebay for them.
You can buy chips that derestrict the car and convert the km to miles (also on ebay)

Check out eblag. Black shaped like a torpedo is the one you want. It's a mechanical converter.

do any of these machanical devices torpeodo/cable conveter also delimit the cars jap restrictor? as you can tell im not atall clued up!!

yes although there is no reason to do more then the 112mph unless your going to do trackdays etc

I got one of these "torpedo" convertors off a guy off here for £36.00 and fitted it myself in 30mins.
