Default codes 24 and 44

I know what they are, 24 being the idle air solenoid, and the wastegate solenoid.
What i need to know is, what is it that makes the light come on, i tried a reset, but not convinced i did it right though, but it made no difference. The car idles about 1300 at the minute when warm and hunts between 12&1300.
The car runs fine now other than that, so the hard bit is sorted, after 4 months,!!
Its just these last few bits to do before it goes into the mot.
Strangley the lambda is not throwing a code, i am changing it anyway, but that surprised me when i saw the state of it, saying that, it gave a voltage of0.4 out of tha car, so maybe it actually works!!

This is what it looked like before i tidied it up.

i am only running the signal wire now, no heater, as the wires are badly mangled, i could only save the signal.
If i am right, the wastegate solenoid wouldnt make the car run badly, the code 44

but the 24 would, so, as i have changed the 24 for a known good one, would the ecu hold that code and run high idle because it doesnt know its changed??

The worst case, is the wiring has been damaged, as its the same loom as the llambda.

Any light would be greatly appreciated.

i found out that the sensors do not have any power going to them, so am either gonna run a new cable for the power unless i can see the issue straight away. Fingers crossed that will sort it.
