Rotated turbo and external wastegate

Rotated turbo and external wastegate
In 2 minds to buy an already fairly big power classic or upping the power of my ra.
If I keep the RA I was looking at going the td05 20g route but was also thinking about rotating the turbo and fitting an external wastegate.
Have any of you out there got any diagrams or good pics of this type of installation? I'll be doing the work myself so that I get a greater sense of achievement out of the car once it's finished.
btw - engine will be coming out soon so if that helps to do the conversion?
Cheers,
Matt.

a 20G sits in the standard position. It also has its own internal wastegate.
A true rotated setup is usually with a Garrett GT30 or a GT35. This has its own external wastegate that is totally seperate for the turbo.
Unless you're wanting to run massive power , wouldnt go this route there's a load of bolts on delivering 500bhp and above now for alot less money than a whole rotated externally wastegate setup.
Bolt on Costs
MD321T Circa £1300
bigger inlet pipe £200
Rotated Setup
Turbo £1000
Rotated up and down pipes £800
External waste gate £350
Bigger Inlet tube £200
Getting rid of Maf is advised on these so you're looking at a new ECU £1000 (simtek)
New Oil and water lines £200
I went down the more expensive but ulimately more flexible Rotated Turbo route.
Here's a couple of pics of my setup.

wasn't thinking of rotating the 20g. have been offered a big turbo and external wastegate for a very good price. was going to rotate the up and down pipes myself. (mate owns an exhaust manufacturing company so not too much of a problem )
not looking to run huge power straight away but if i'm going to change the turbo then i was thinking i might as well get some ground work in.
was looking to get the simtek anyway. goodby maf and hello anti lag
Cheers for the replies.

Even with the proper made RCMS up and down pipes and support bracket fitting is pretty damned hard. It was a couple of mm out and lining it all up and bolting it all together is a bitch.
Be prepaired for some hassle

Unless you are looking at upwards of 550+bhp easily, I would stick with standard position turbos. IMO it is not worth the expense and stress going rotated otherwise, as has been stated. Even though my engine is not run of the mill, it has already achieved 530bhp at relatively low boost on a standard drop in turbo with a .63 housing. If we banged on a .82 it should produce even more at the top end, so I would suggest a lot of potential exists with the right engine.
