Looking at fitting an up pipe weather permitting this weekend, i can get a so called group N one from a very reputable exhuast maker from up my way for £90 however it is rigid? is this a problem?
I have seen flexi ones which claim to eliminate flange leakage? also a heat slip plate or something like that? i am totally lost.
Obviously i understand your engine has to move therefore a flexi one does make sense but then why sell rigid ones etc?
help....lol
If anyone could reccommend theirs or tell me what they've got too or any probs with say the flexi over rigid would be great cheers

I believe that slip jointed ones do leak. However it is only when they are cold....once heated up they expand and any leaks are eradicated. This is possible why you have been told they leak. Slip jointed design is better than either of the other options.

Meercat are a relatively local jap exhaust maker where i got my system done and and it is unbelievable. they do their group 'N'. rigid one for £90 however unfortunately they do not post items. have a look at their website they done the system (full 5" i think) for the fastest skyline (i think or evo or something) in the country.
do you guys all have your EGT senors fitted or did you go down the resistor route?

The solid up-pipes can lead to leaking gasket issues at the up-pipe to headers joint, particularly if not fitted carefully.
In time the flexi pipes can wear and fail and some of them are such a different diameter that they are not conducive to smooth gas flow.
Slip jointed may have the slightest of leaks when cold, if properly made but they seal as they heat up. They are available with or without a boss to take a sensor.
Best have the up-pipe heat wrapped to reduce under bonnet temps and promote good turbo spool.
