Default 2001 STI Import (Cambelt change due date)

Hi,

I have recently bought a 2001 STI import which has only covered 35000 miles.
Does anyone know when the cambelt should have been changed as I have no record of it being done.

Thanks,

Lee.

I would do it now. The recommended mileage is 45k, but, more importantly belts do have a shelf life. Its a general rule that 45k is about right but 4-5 years is also long enough for the belt to be on. If its only done 20k but been on for 4 years IMO I would change it as a precaution. If it gets oil/grime on it this too can lead to early failure.
