turbo help needed asap please
hi there first off let me say hello as i am new to this site but currently a member on TTS.
this is my first impreza so please bare with me on the technical stuff as i am abit unsure of it all still.thanks.
first off my car is a import 1995 WRX turbo.
the problem . .
i need some help a.s.a.p
driveing home lastnite and whne i let off the throttle to slow down my dump valve went off then the turbo just stopped boosting.
but when you put your foot down and the turbo is supose to kick in it still makes a mad wirrling/spooling sound but doesnt kick in or boost up on the gauge.
anyone help me a.s.a.o please ?

dump valve stuck open? maybe wastegate stuck open id cheak these too first then cheak all boost pipework for leaks splits and blockages.........(wouldnt of thought there would be blockages though as it would be overboosting)

no there is no smoke at all.and i check as many pipes as i could and they all seem fine.
as for dump valve.a mate of mine said to just see if it opened and closed.and it does. (its a forge one not sure on type)

have you cheaked for error codes with the plugs under dashboard? are you sure the actuator is full back and free by moving it with piar of pliers back and forth. i did this on mine once wen i got it as it was not free enough and just not closing.. also i would take off dump valve and put a standard one on if u can borrow one just to eliminate that side. is ok to look at something when its in your hand working but who is to say it works when car is going down the road with diffrent loads acting on it maybe weak valve and opening under higer preassure than normal.. (me being me i would take pipe off from actuator and very very carefullly drive off boost till say forth gear then build boost up carefilly untill boost got to desired psi no more! on the boost guage, stop car re-attach pipe. but only works if boost guage attached if you get it to desired psi you know it aint turbo or actuator BUT THIS IS WAT ID DO AND DONE! but not rcomended really) it just elliminated that side if things so u can start looking at other stuff. this is just advise
