Throttle sticking fully open
Hi ladies and gents!
I have a 2001 Impreza wrx uk. Occasionally now when i am booting it the throttle will stick open in the full position and i have to hook my foot under the throttle pedal to stop it. It has only done this 3 times but each time it does it i either scare the life out my passengers or bystanders, or slightly soil myself :-)
What could this be? I had a similar problem with a previous m3, i got a new throttle spring for the pedal and it stopped it, do you think i should do the same again? anyone have or know where i can get the part number?
Thanks! :-)
Pete

Go under the bonnet and with the engine OFF manually operate the throttle linkage and see if theres anything obvious causing it to jam.
You could also stick yout head in the footwell and see if anythings jamming the pedal, carpet, floor mat, wire etc ?

Hi mate,
yeah i have looked at the throttle linkage, oiled it up, regeased everything. I also took all the mats out and had a good look under but couldnt see anything. the last thing i can think it could be is the spring is a bit worn?any other suggestions?
