Forge dump valve problem or not?
I sold my hawkeye WRX (55 plate) a couple of weeks ago, the guy who bought it from me has only had it on the road for 4 days from buying it from me and he said since he's had it it kept stalling and cutting out. He ended up getting it towed to a Subaru garage, as still under warranty. They have had it for a week, testing all sorts of things and they are saying the problem is the car has been over fueling which has damaged the spark plugs which had to be changed. They are saying it's caused by the forge dump valve. I've never heard of anything like this? Any ideas if this is true?

If it is a VTA dumpvalve yes it is true.Being a MAF based car the VTA dumpvalve causes the ecu to misread the amount of air passing through so chucks more fuel in to compensate.Im sure someone will be along soon to elaborate
Always use the standard recirc as has been said milions of times..............why does no one listen

i had a similar problem on my MY99 uk but wasnt to do with a dump valve as mine was standard. it was to do with the MAF so they swapped that. one way of telling is if its cuts out as soon as it starts then disconnect the MAF try again and if it still runs then this is likey the problem.
