Default Water temp wiring

After doing a lot of searching i couldn't find anything so i'm going ask.

I have a water temp gauge after market one fitted in the wrx the sender is at the mo in the top rad pipe by a t peice but i have found the the t peice has put a split in my rad hose due to being a small space and very tight.

The t peice is the correct size and everything and in the middle of the pipe.

My question is - is ther anywhere else i can wire in my water temp gauge could i not just wire up the gauge to the existing water temp sender?

If is there some other way of wiring placing t peive of somesort.

Thanks in advance.

If it's just a normal gauge i guess you could run it off the original temp sensor.

i tried that and my ecu kicked up a big fuss about it all.

So i thought about welding something into my expansion tank and put the sender in that.
