Default What year was the 2.5l engine introduced in WRX models?

Hi,

I am wondering about engine parts compatibility between models.

What is the latest model year that I can take parts from which will still be the same as the parts from my '01 bugeye? I've been offered a couple of bits from a 2004 WRX, and wondered if they fit. The breaker reckons that it will be fine, but I've been screwed over by breakers in the past and in general they have a reputation for not always throwing straight dice...

Any thoughts?

2.5's came in on the Hawkeye (2006) in the UK, so an 04 model will still be a 2.0
Should be fine depending on what parts they are, even a lot of 2.5 parts are compatible with earlier 2.0 models
