Question TICK OVER?

HI all,,, got an sti ver 4 sometimes the car idles at 1000rpm just over sometimes but if i turn engine off and start back up it will drop down too 600rpm then run fine but then after driving sometimes idles at 1000rpm again ? but not all the time?? any one help with this or any ideas?? please

idle control soleniod, and the bad news it aint cheap, mine needs one and best so far is just over £300

(exactlt same simptoms as yours)

you can try cleaning it though

no probs.

before you do, let me check i have the right way to do it, dont want you to do it and find it nackers it.

but from what i remember being told,

take it off (its the small cylinder with the black connector, just below the topmount in the middle of the intake).

spray it with some brake cleaner (dont try and adjust the mecanism though) and then leave it to dry. refit and should have done. hoping to have mine done tomorrow, so i'll post up for def if thats how its done. pm me if i havn't to remind me though, cos i'll forget lol
