Default MD321H ? ?

Hi Guys have searched and searched but still cant make my mind up. I want to do this right the first time so here goes.
I have an 04 WRX Wagon and can't decide detween the AF18G or the MD321h, i am looking for around 380hp with good road manners, the car wont see any tracks and will be running on 97ron. I also have a garage full of supporting mods waiting for this last part.
Could anyone help me decide following there experiences etc ?

Many thanks

I doubt you'll see 380 from an 18G on 97RON mate. 20G maybe.

MD321h is more of a 400bhp turbo IIRC, again, not sure what grade of fuel is assumed for that figure. The latter costs significantly more though.

I'd have a word with someone like Andy F for advice -what he doesn't know about the TD series probably isn't worth knowing!

BTW Do you have a std gearbox? If so, expect to part company with it shortly after fitting the bigger turbo!

Hi, yea i understand about the box etc but with the type of driving i will be doing (won't see any tracks) i think it may hold up ok. Next bill PPG!!!
As far as the turbos is the MD321h that much better to warrent the extra price, in regrards to spool up, response etc?

Thanks again for the advise, how are you liking the mods to yours ?

I've just ordered the MD321H with the new modified exhaust housing which has been tested by Zen Performance. I know it's expensive mate, but from what i've read aslong as you have supporting mods, I don't think there is any turbo available that will do the same job? Can't wait to get it!!

I Have an MD321H and supoporting mods on a 2L (03 STI) making around the 420bhp mark on methanol. I recently went out in a friend's 02STI fitted with virtually identical mods as mine apart from the fact he runs an AndyF 20G. Have to say I was very impressed just how clean and hard his car pulled. Pretty close in performance for a lot less wonga!

I'm running a shade over 400 BHP on my 18G (ok, it's got methanol injection as well), so is ninnybobs.

I've broken 2 gearboxes so I hope the mods in the garage include that

Cheaper too LOL
