Default Things to get before remap...

Hi all,

As soon as the ESL for MY97/98 cars is available I'm going to get my car remapped. What I would like to know is what things I should get in place before this?
Car is UK Turbo with complete decat and panel filter.
Thanks muchly!
Oh and hi to anyone in the Colchester area, see a few around...

depends on how much power you want and what your budget is....personally i dont think a remap is "needed" for a decat and panel filter, however it will give more power plus other benefits

I ran my 99 uk turbo with a full decat, downpipe, panel filter and greddy ebc at 1.0 bar for almost a year without any problems at all and a noticeable hike in power over standard

recently i have fitted a VF35 turbo, STI 8 top mount, fuel pump and FPR then all mapped with an apexi power FC, any of those mods would def require a remap.....so if your getting it mapped anyway and have the money id go for a bigger turbo and supporting mods, that is if you want extra power.

Apart from what you have already, an uprated fuel pump- about £70 for a Walbro 255lt/hr. No more than 1/2 hr to fit.

Remap is well worth it- just had mine done (MY00 turbo) after fitting panel filter, sports cat, de-cat centre, and backbox. Smoother drive, extra 55bhp, and improved fuel economy.

Was just aiming for the near the limit of the sandard turbo, bout 270 ish or more and better drivability.

265-275bhp is what mine is estimated at now, will get an accurate figure when the dyno is fixed! You should be bang on the money with what you have and the remap.
An uprated fuel pump is highly recommended though before remap.
