Lambda probe/ Oxygen Sensor i'd use a little heat to get it out mate as they aren't cheap. Mine was £320. :-(

what car u got? normally there is 2 sensors, one in manifold uppipe which is lamba and one in downpipe which is O2. it measures your exhaust emissions and alters the air fuel mixture if you are running too rich or lean. if one goes then your emissions will go threw the roof.

whatever you do, dont use wd40 or release agent to get it out, it f*cked mine completely and i found out later it was thew wd40 that screwed it. A new one costs £140 +vat for a 99, i got a uni part instead for £35....hmmm.
