Default injector re-map question.

For MY1994 WRX Import
running at approx 275BHP
i have 3" full Decat
New Top Mount Intercooler
HKS mushroom
Z4 ECU

Question is: i have just got a set of yellow 440's and fitting kit.
been quoted £600 for a remap and im a bit skint to say the least for a while.
will i be ok fitting these or will there be a fuel problem via the Z4.

?? or can i get an STI ECU ??

any other options

any ideas boys??

I take it you have maxed out your 380's and want to push things a little further ?

You really need a mappable ecu. I use an apexi power fc on my99. I know i can get ecutek on it but im certainly not paying 600 quid every time i change something on my car. I can map the power fc myself and have saved a fortune to date.

To do it properly bud, you need a remap..

should never be 600 everytime regardless of ecu... but anyway...

wait and fit the injectors just before remap, the cut ecu map will be expecting 380cc injectors

It will probably run like a bag of **** with the 440's in. Do what Simon(JGM) recommends.

I know all about maxed out injectors.

Was the license owned by you? Or was the ECU from a different car?

should make no difference... a licenced ecu is a licenced ecu.

exactly as jgm, a licence is a licence, once it is in your car its yours.

The wrong place ?? - well, maybe yes. but most ecutek remaps are around the 500 ball park price. unless something has changed in the last few weeks ??

either way, i thought s*d this i can do this myself a never looked back from buying a pfc, datalogit and a innovate wideband.

My car has an ecutek license on it which cost £500 and for any additional mapping i will only get charged dyno time which will normally be £120, it's definately not £500 everytime because the ecu is already ecutek'd! Aslong as you take it back to the original mapper. Due to them having the original maps for the your specific car.

going off topic now especially as OP's ecu is no EcuTek mappable..

however..

first remap on an ecu using EcuTek has a RRP and includes the licence..

further remaps are individual to the mapper and are likely to be cheaper by the original mapper as they have the current map already and don't have to start a fresh remap.. but expect half of what you paid AL

if you run with 440s before a remap then itll drive ok-ish off boost (although very rich) but if you try and boot it then youll chuck a load of black smoke out the back as itll over-fuel

It will be overfuelling by upto 60cc of fuel.. if the lambda sensor is working it might pull a little back on light throttle.. but it will be killing mpg yes
