Default How do I get 300bhp, plus?

Hi

Can anyone tell me the best way to get 300bhp or more. I've got a 98 'S' Uk Turbo 2000 with a full Blitz NUR Spec exhaust, boost controller and Walbro 255 fuel pump. I have about 1000 - 1250 ish to spend.

The previous owner reckoned it was running at 253bhp ish.

Oh yeah, think it's the one where you can't map the ecu.

Pretty sure that yes you can map the ecu, i would be very suprised if you couldnt on a 98 reg
Anyway to start with the TD04 turbo wont get past 280 bhp so you gonna have to change that.
If your not wanting to go much over 320bhp then I would suggest

Decat Downpipe £100 second hand off here
Green panel filter, NOT an induction kit!
VF28 turbo (Dont go for a TD05 as it will be too laggy at 300bhp) £250-300 second hand off here
Tek 3 remap about £650 i think

That should see you at 300 bhp

97/98 uk turbo 3 plug ecu is not mappable m8 apexi pfc way to go can be had approx 3-400 plus map

Nice one, cheers lads. Gonna try and go for around 320bhp I think. Do you know of anyone closer, I'm up in Teesside and don't wanna travel too far really.

i have a 98 s reg turbo couldn't be mapped.
went for the apexi powerfc.

take a look at my mods on view my scooby running approx 320-330bhp

take a look here for mapping & supplying + prices : www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk

will travel anywhere

very well known mapper on this site & a very good mapper,mapped mine twice now with excellent results

Why don't you sell and by an STi or STi type R? You'll have a better base to start with then and 300bhp not too far away...

Those ECU's can be mapped now, by the ESL live board, or another I thnk from power engineering and / or Scoobyclinic. About £550 though. Apexi and map for £750 ish the better way to go.


Decat d/pipe wide mouth, STi panel filter, turbo and ECU/Map.

AndyF TD04 hybrid good for around 320 bhp and great spool up.

Cheers for the ideas lads, think im gonna keep it and do the mods. Looking for a VF34 turbo if anyone has one??
