Default top end tapping

Hi all, right firstly, Hi, im new to the site.

I've asked this question on the legacy forums, mainly as i was already a member and the engine is the same...

I have a UK spec 97 wagon, with the ej20 NA engine. I've just bought it, for next to **** all, to use as a work horse and noticed it has a tapping coming from the right hand head.

Now on the legacy forums someone mentioned shims, im not too familiar with the subaru engines setup, and was hoping someone could enlighten me as too how i can go about fixing the problem

many thanks

Ross

IIRC the EJ20 N/A had Hydraulic lifters on the early ones and adjustable tappets (screw + locknut type) on the later ones.
Easiest way to check is to whip a cam cover off and have a look.
