seem to have a problem, when i'm driving and put the clutch in to come to a stop my revs drop down to 500ish then go back up to 1000ish before settling back down to normal and it does this all the time now ???? any ideas

it's worth checking, but when you say 500rpm, do you mean halfway between 0rpm and 1000rpm? If so that's actually 700rpm, as the tach marks read 0 then the next one is 500rpm.

It does sound like the early signs of a MAF related issue, or a faulty lambda sensor. What year/version is the car? MAF would be high on the list for a 99/00 car.

paul it's dropping down to the 500 mark, it's a my99 maf and lamba arent that old really. I have still got the centre cat on after the mot though it was mapped with no cats at all would this cause any problems, is there any sure way to check the maf or lamba ?
cheers

I would say MAF related. Get it to somewhere who know how to use a select monitor properly, or even better, deltadash.
