Can standard discs be grooved ?

Have a machine shop at work, before i ask and look daft thought id find out on here,can standard discs be grooved or even drilled,i presume so as i would of thoughts discs were solid then just grooved/drilled as required by godspeed or the ebay outlets etc

Not a definative answer, but I guess it would be fine as long as they are dynamically balanced afterwards. The depth of the groove would be limited so as not to reduce strength and I would not machine them much deeper than the minimum disk thickness.

Dont bother, buy uprated ones with better internal vent flows. You risk cracking on disks unless you do it with precision tools/machines and once you head down that route, it gets expensive, there's alot to the design of these drilled and groooovy discs...
