just got 55reg sti and fault eml on already
just bought an 55 plate sti on monday drove it fine its just had full service and check over ect, on thursday eml came on and the car sounds horrible sounds like the tappets are knocking when cold,itsisnt very good when not boosting but ok when on boost took it back to dealer as under warrenty its done 12k miles they said that diagnostics saying its running ritch so they have orderd new maf does this seem right carnt have car back till tues now

well they fitted new maf didnt make no difference. the garage said its running worse now wont rev over 3000rpm. they think its something to do with the boost controller can this cause car to run poorly and cause it to run ritch if set up incorrect? the garage got a subaru specialist to look at it and he said hes really concerned that the bottom end could go its only got just 12k on the clock can this be right think there having my eyes out its all under warrenty still what use think could be the cause they also said its spluttering and backfiring.

Sound like it needs to go to some one who knows what they are doing.
12k is nothing. normaly good strong engines, has it been moded or is it std?
good thing you got a warranty with it. no warranty on mine only 18 month old. warranty out of window when I started doing mods, I did wait till the car was 3 months old though.

no its not standard its had prodrive upgrade pack ecu cats ect engine has had few mods not much mind but ive got 8 months warranty with subaru and 5 years with evan halshaw were i got it from i think your right about taking it to a jap tuner who knows what to do think i will take it to xo pro tuning in newcastle anybody used them before?

Sound like you bought it from a Subaru garage. When they find out what it is, and it could just be some thing or nothing, they will get it running right for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.

well been on phone to garage they are willing to put it on a trailer and take it to any tuner of my choice localish at there expense im in north east area middlesbrough anybody got any recomandations
