A VF35 is fitted to the bug-eye STI, so with injectors and a re-map, you should see around 320 bhp (?) depending on supporting mods, such as fuel pump and exhaust. I've got one if you fancy it !

LOL

DunxC

P.S. you may be able to "just" up-rate the fuel pressure regulator if you stop around 300 BHP (?)

To get the most out of any turbo upgrade, you will need to upgrade your injectors.

The only one that maybe worth considering is an Andy Forrest TD04 Hybrid.

If you chose to just up your fuel pressure to achieve 300BHP you might as well keep the TD04 you have and have it mapped properly. Obviously with the necessary supporting mods.

TD04 wont get to 300bhp unless its an Andy F hybrid

There was a thread on here recently with proven dyno charts of TD04s hitting 300.

if you want a reliable 320-330bhp with similiar torque maybe more go for a vf34 or vf35

i'm running vf35 on my98 mapped by jgm very happy

if you are aiming for more power you will have to consider clutch & gearbox

Sure a second hand VF35 will be cheaper than a hybrid ?

IMHO

My wrx 03 bug hit 290 bhp easy by andy f.
Only reason you cant go further on a td04 is because i didnt change my turbo up pipe which has a cat on it.
Any more power and the cat might break up which would get nasty inside the turbo!!
Andy f said you can get 300 at least from a td04

a standard td04 will be maxed out at that sort of level.
how many mappers on here will map a standard td04 to 300bhp reliable?

like i said vf34 or vf35 would get you over 300+bhp easy & safely

From what I have seen on your previous posts you have enough supporting mods to reach 320bhp or so with the addition of the VF34/35. The only other mod I would consider is the STI top mount.

Just out of interest my RB5 reached 330 with the usual exhaust mods and VF28.

For the price of a replacement turbo it is an absolute must for more power, quicker spool up, more torque etc.

You will just need JGM to tweak your map then you will be flying

I was told that they maxed out around 310/320. Might have been told wrong though.

All mapped by Jolly green monster for 333/310.

Fuel Pressure Regualtor is down near the turbo, little round thing at the end of the fuel rail.

To uprate, you'll need to buy an adjustable FPR, fuel line etc. And obviously then have them fitted, and set the fuel pressure.

Frayz has a Fuelab FPR fitted, have a look at his thread in the members gallery.
