Default Possible MAF failure? What else could it be?

I am having the same issue with my v3 STi, when ever I approach a juction and dip the clutch the revs go just below the 500rpm line hunting before stabilising at the normal 800-900 RPM. also occationally I get the CEL only when doing 40mph in 4th, it disappears as soon as I dip the clutch as I brake for a junction.

I just changed the MAF (2nd hand, orange label); although I believe the ecu has not been reset properly; I unplugged the battery and going to leave it like that for 1 hour or so.

has anyone got any ideas?

cheers

Have you done the CEL test?(connecting the connector blocks under the steering column)
Maf code is 2-3 if it is f**ked.

I have tried unplugging the old sensor with the engine running, it didn't stall, the engine only stopped once I reconnected the sensor.

I will have to do what you say at the weekend,

any more ideas please?

cheers

I just noted this morning that the revs start hunting the the Temp neddle starts going up....

could this be related to the Temp sensor? I am also getting pop and bangs (running rich) could the Temp sensor have an effect on the air/fuel ratio?

cheers

my speedo head was not working, this apparently sends false info to the ECU and starts mis reading from other sensors, I was getting Errors like 23, 11, 24 ,45 and 33.

sorted the speedo head and all other errors cleared

cheers!
