STi intercooler
hi all,are there any benifits when fitting an STi intercooler as an upgrade for the standard wrx one.
ive recently read that it gives an instant increase in BHP but surly it cant be true just by upgrading the intercooler, i would have thought it might be benaficial with a remap but not instant like ive read.
also is the scoop and undertray that goes with the STi intercooler a must?

Not an instant increase no,but maybe a cooler charge allowing your mapper to turn up the gas lol
Undertray is diff size m8
Unless your having problems or changing the turbo etc: I personally would save your money.

You will need the undertray and scoop to make the most out of an Sti intercooler. They are a straight swap (ish) although the undertray might need altering. Without this you won't be getting the volume/location of the air as it should be. As above it's only really beneficial if you're going for a remap to make the most out of it.

Don`t you get a lower pressure drop across a STI intercooler, so you would get the benefit that the turbo won`t be working so hard to produce the same manifold boost, if this is so.
