my01 standard boost
Hi guys what is the standard boost on a my01 wrx impreza and what is this max you can run on it safely with the standard turbo.
The car has a turbo back exhaust, a cotton green panel filter, cooler plugs and a uprated fuel pump

mines running 270bhp with standard turbo, turbo back decat, green panel filter and ecutek remap mapped to 1bar,i think with a decat up pipe you might get a little more.
but i think im right in saying, the standard turbo would run out of puff near 300bhp

the TD04 turbo on the bugeye can just about get 265 BHP at about 1.4 bar with a slightly better air filter and de-cat... above that the turbo is just superheating the intake air and getting nowhere... !
the standard fuel pump can cope with this OK.
There is no need for an AVCR at this level as it takes boost control away from the ECU which is pretty good
If you are sticking with your original turbo I'd sell the AVCR and spend the money on some eibach springs, rear droplinks, better discs and pads .............and then the EcuTeK remap
