Default Up-pipe selection help.

Im looking to get an ebay special for my 05 WRX, what would the better style to go with be?

The types with the armoured flexible connection in the middle or the types with the expansion sleeve joint.

getting it remapped soon and getting tight for cash so going down the ebay route for this

I bought one of those flexi up-pipes on e-bay, and whilst it looked great in the box it didn't line up properly, stud holes were wrong size, the gaskets supplied were rubbish and it blew after 50-60 miles which entailed a LOT of fannying about to get the bugger off again. I did manage to source a genuine plain up-pipe for a tenner from e-bay however and of course this fitted first time and is still running fine, lesson learnt!

OEM pipe , ie stamped with the Subaru name, comes with little heat shield, no cat inside. Only a tenner from e-bay, just gotta keep looking. I know you can get plain ones for £ 140 but I ain't paying that much for 9" of bent steel pipe!!
