on the dash board there is a light which is a rectangle (landscape view) with 3 wavy line coming out of it, this is one a WRX 95, is it basically telling me "im about to give up the ghost?" or is it a dodgy sensor or something? how do i check for these "fault codes" if that is what it needs?
sorry im new to scoobys, what do you mean by cat on fire? unplug what exactly? Sorry i know about engines but EJ20 is totally different to what im used to! from what you said id imagine there is a problem with the catalyc converter and you mean unplug the lambda sensor? thats what my ford talk would be lol!
what, unplug it and leave it off or re attach? was gunna say, it cant be the cat itself as the light is permenatly on even when stone cold! lol does it mean the sensor needs replacing?
where exactly is that situated? is it on the cat itself? sorry for the questions just new to this engine, can ask me anything about zetecs tho! lol
Forums are for asking questions
The plug can be seperated from the loom (think it's a white, round plug near the airbox) but i would take it to a garage just to make sure you're taking apart the right thing.
well at least you know what to do when the cat on fire light (which is red) comes on
yes exactly, only just got the damn car the other day, and not really looked around the interior to much, went thru lots of fuses, so it prob went on when i replaced a burnt out one! lol
i found the wire you was talking about, good to know it is still working fine!
thanks guys, looking forward to cracking on with the scooby
