Default BOV on late Classic

Apologies in advance for asking a question that has probably been asked a zillion times before...

I've got a 1999 Classic with the standard BOV still installed, but am looking to fit an atmospheric BOV as I'm one of the diminishing minority that likes the woooooosh sound!

Now, I'm no expert on cars/engines, but am I right that an atmospheric BOV will play havoc with the fuelling as the ECU will 'assume' the air is being returned to the intake, and thus dump more fuel in than actually needed?

TIA

This is what I heard, but I fitted a bailey VTA to mine (also a MY99) a month or 2 ago, and can't say I've really noticed any difference with anything.
Other than that wooosh sound ;-)

it will just pop and bang, if you got a straight through exhaust, it all adds to the effect

I definitely like the popping and banging bit, but the unmetered fuel being injected would cause borewash on the oil in the cylinders wouldn't it?

just fitted a Tubrosmart megasonic dual port BOV to my uncles year 2000 scooby, it is popping more and quite loud. At the moment he has a prodrive center and back box but will soon be changing to a blitz nur spec.

here is a pic of it:
