Default Inlet manifold spacer temps?

Hi,just a quick one,has anyone done a direct temp comparison before and after fitting inlet manifold/water tank spacers?
I've found many threads about them, but none with temps.
In the next couple of weeks im going to be removing the inlet for a fuel rail mod,and also for the red crackle paint.I've ordered some tufnol, and will make the spacers myself,so just interested.

Thanks,Mit

Mine was a very scientific test. As standard, I couldn't touch the manifold for any length of time after the engine had been running a while and it would rapidly heat up. I fitted 10mm manifold spacers and header tank stand-offs and now it is about the same temperature as the general engine bay heat i.e. you can lean on it easily and work on the car no sweat with the engine running.

So no numbers, but I guarantee it works.

Thanks, im in the process of doing all the 'safety' mods, before i look at going to the next step with power, many of which are done with the manifold off it seems, and it's nice to know there not a waste of time!

Totally worth it if you're having the manifold off. Normally I'm a big fan of proper data and testing but fitting these was a might-as-well job while I was there and the difference in temperature was like night and day. It also cured a long-standing problem I had with the knock sensor triggering on light throttle that just couldn't be mapped out.
