Default exhaust fitting

People just got my new exhaust parts in and was going to fit it myself as i am can use a spanner and socket set!!!!

its just a very quick one regarding the downpipe

is it as straight forward as i am assuming that it is just the 5 bolts that need to be undone or are there any pipes clips etc that i need to watch out for, does the turbo heat shield need to come off to get to anything any pointers?

also i assume it is best to replace all the gaskets at the same time too?

thanks

steve

Remove the heatshield (mine was a nightmare), lambda sensor from downpipe or unplug, 5x nuts on downpipe and 2 bolts, 2x nuts and bolts on centre/downpipe, remove downpipe/transfer box bracket, May have another mount on the bell housing. Then the downpipe is free.
The rest of the exhaust is a no brainer to get off. Simply remove the rubbers and bobs your closest.

Take care when removing the downpipe nuts. Work them back and forth to try and lessen the chance of snapping the studs. Spray them with wd or wirebrush them as well.

Use new gaskets too mate.

it is easy to do just take your time and you'l see everything that needs to come off. the turbo heat shield has to come off which is held on by a 3 10mm bolts advice would be use plent of wd40 and leave to soke for quite a while and same with all nuts and bolts

hope that helps

Just a tip, I would heat wrap the downpipe before you fit it, it really helps reduce the under bonnet temps and it don't cost much. I wish I'd remembered to when I fitted mine
