Default Older Version Simtek knock problem????

I have an older pre knock sensor "use" version of the simtek #20, got it tuned by steve simpson and after a week it seems like it all going to crap, only running .7bar on a stock td05 from a 96 ra with a 2.5 bottom end on 440's made 306 at tuning and ran great for a few days, then mysterious fuel cut at .8bar while retuning the avcr for some reason started to get bad surging for a day, now im getting knock in a very specific point 4000-5000 rpm in 2nd gear even with boost controller turned off (avcr) and running at wastgate .5 bar and also at 6000-6500 rpm in 4th and 5th i have the phormula ks3 on the block and im getting anything from high 30's to some points 90's on the reading, im now at the point of being scared

question we did find that the coil packs were cracked and was getting a misfire at higher boost which is why we only tuned to .7bar and that seemed to run great on dyno.... can coilpack faults cause det?

got new coil packs coming soon and prolly gonna move to 550's too

looking for feedback from other older edition users to see if this is an inherent problem? or if i may have a dodgy ecu

next question with the simtek did anyone else have an avcr and see the injector duty cycle readings change, which is another concern i have as before it read 4 to 8% at idle and now reads 48%

im concerned that this maybe the issue? dodgy ecu readings

any feedback appreciated

suggest you speak with Steve, but seen old versions working perfectly

coilpacks failing can cause misfire and det

inj duty change is a weird one though..

There are some cars that have had a similar spike when accellerating hard. My car being afflicted with it. It can be intermittent, but I know that my mapper is aware of the issue and has relayed this back to Simtek designers for analysis. Im awating an update at some point.

Talk to Steve, no point is coming on here when the mapper can fix it or advise, with full use of the facts.
