Default is my ecu suitable for a remap ???

basically in a number of months i shall be installing a cdb into my u wagon and it currentley has a s8 ??? ecu , and with supporting mods i will be aiming for 400 ish bhp , what i want to know is will my ecu be mapable ? and will it run it at 400 ?

Depends what year the car/ecu is as 1993-1996 cars can be covered by having the ESL live mapping board (although i think work is being done on 97/98 ecus) put onto them and 99/00 have Ecutek.
Other than that a replacement ecu is required.

AS MBW says, 93-96 you can have chipped or the live mapping ESL board for, 97/98 you have to replace the ECU with an Apexi power FC or similar, 99/00 can be reflashed with ECUtek (but not live mapped).
