Default vf34 and ticking

ok picked up a uk turbo yesterday, has a vf 34 added, the car when accelerator is pressed makes a ticking noise i think its from engine it sounds like a vw caper van engine noise? would this be something to do with the turbo? doesn't do it on idle?

Sounds like you have a exhaust gas leak prob on the up-pipe to the turbo - that would make a distinctive ticking noise.

umm well its not there on idle then as a pull away and drive down the road its there on general piddling along at 50 then if i put my foot down it increases with engine noise really its like a very fast paced ticking and well to me sounds like a vw camper van engine kinda noise, but its only on the go?

As mentioned above, def sounds like a gasket on the turbo,or the holes you said about. Try and look at the turbo gaskets, and see if there's any soot, indicating a leak.Or,take it back to the people who fitted it.

was fitted to the car when i picked it up but in my excitment never really noticed the noise till drive home, the turbo looks spotless almost like its brand new he did say it was a few months old guess, he might have used old gaskets when fitting i'll have a good look tommorrow.
