Default advice asap please on sti wagon

hi i have seen an sti wagon for sale 96 in red,has the red top engine,grey seats with sti in red,sti fog covers etc etc...does anyone know what the chassis and engine code should be???and did they make them in red???does anyone know as i have to ring back later...thanks...

That code is indeed for a V2 STi Wagon, same as mine

Depending on how good a deal and what your plans are for the car the V2's will cost you more money to modify, although it should have that nice TD05 16g turbo. FMIC and uprated injectors will be a must for any serious power advances.

ah thanks for the reply 53wrx,it has a exhaust on the car and that looks to be it,i have a scoobyecu and an air filter i have had for a while was going to fit them and see if made much difference over the stock ecu...is the 16g same as the wrx???what mods can you recomend as want it to be reliable...any engine pics of yours...

Cheapest option is a proper service, all fluids, cambelt plugs filters etc.
ESL Live Remap.
Upgraded brake pads.

Out the box they handle great and with proper TLC and a good mapping session should be reliable. But the brakes are pretty bad
