Whats this on my window?

i think it is to hold the window in place when its shut (to stop theiving scum to pull the window back) i'm guessing its got the same door set up as the classic scoobys with no metal work around the window?

I have a feeling it is for cars fitted with electric windows. I think it is to guide the window into place as they are motorised, kind of a safety feature. I could be wrong though.

Yes it is a classic, MY00.
Strange how its only got the one.
I wouldn't think its the elec window idea, as it doesn't actually touch the glass. Its fixed on to the body.

Adzer you are probably right, but its not only on cars that have no metal window surround. If you look on most modern cars they all seem to have it. I remember when I worked for Ford years ago, back when M reg was brand new, Mondeos, Escorts and the like had them back then too. Mind you, thievin scum still existed back then too!

thought they was to guide the glass and squash it to the rubber seals for leakage and when going at highspeeds and air is forced into cabin through vents the glass stays where it is and not tend to flap out wards so to speak due to not having metal runners to keep glass in place???
