Default DUMP VALVE QUESTION

Hi, hoping someone can answer this question
My car at the moment doesnt seem to be boosting properly, 1 thought is the dump valve (forge re-circ).
To see if it makes any difference with the dump valve off would it be o.k (just as a test) to take off the dump valve and block the 2 holes where the pipes go?
If not, does anyone know how to check if a dump valve is leaking/faulty?
(its a 97 impreza 2000turbo, 1 pipe is on the intercooler 1 on top the engine)
I dont really want to splash out on a new dump valve if theres nothing wrong with the one i have.
I hope someone can help

its not advisable to just block the 2 wholes up as the d/v is there to protect your turbo (although you do get a really good wastegate chatter noise) but you need to pressure test your system forge d/v's have a habbit of springs breaking but if you give forge a ring im sure they will help

If you are just going to do a quick test, then it will be fine, but as has been said, if you leave it like it for the longer term it will damage your turbo.
