People trying to sell type R's with shagged engine's for £4000!!

I can't get my head around it there is a blue one on ebay with a starting bid of £4500.

Another guy on here wants £4000 for his !!

What planet are they living on ?

 

considering a shell without gearbox or engine would go for around £3k I don't see what the problem is

 

Granted Daz that was a while ago i think we all know that with rising Fuel Prices scooby's are not exactly flavour of the month on the second hand car market.In fact i would go as far as to say that the bottom has virtually dropped out of them.
Nice type R's not **** boxes are trading hands for 5 to 6 grand nowadays.
I mean who is going to buy a non runner for 4 grand spend a couple of grand sorting the engine to have something that's worth 5 grand it's maddness !!

 

Don't forget the value of the parts themselves.

You'd easily get your money back.

 

When you say shell do you mean the shell only, or everything with the car apart from an engine/gearbox. I can't see literally a shell going for £3k.

I agree with the op, £4k plus is a stupid amount for a knackered car.

 

No not the shell only. You're probably looking at around £2k for a decent bare 2 door shell.

 

You try explaining to these people that your car is worth 6000 mint but the engine's shagged so it's worth 3000 grand and you get answers like. I've been in contact with a company in burnley that advertise on ebay that'll fix it for 1200!!!

 

LOL aint that the truth, they might just be able to get it home from said tuner, if they are lucky!!!
