Sorry guys - it is a 2.5 STi 10 and about due its first MOT. I live in the E Midlands. Do I have to bolt the oem zorst back on for the MOT? That will be a real schlep !!!

yes it will fail, you can put the catted downpipe on only and take a chance or put the centre cat in, rag the **** off it to get it red hot and ask the tester to run the emissions test straight away. 2nd option not guaranteed to work mind

API will do it, £80 last time I asked for a quote. There's a guy in Luton that does mine a bit cheaper.

i'd rather pay that 80 quid and know its gonna pass emmisions first time rather than fitting a cat yourself for it to fail on emmisions and need to pay for a retest, happened to me a month ago

a mot where i am costs £53 so its only an extra £27 to remove your pipe fit the cat, do the test then refit your pipe and seal it.
not exactly expensive when you cant do it yourself or dont have a cat to fit in the first place!! my car was decatted when i got it and aint paying £200+ for one to use it once a year

wtf. for gods sake please someone pm him a user friendly garage to sort himself out without changing anything. we all know they are about. anyone running a complete decat needs one.
plus all you saying its a dodgey garage. how do you think your decatt gets through an mot. by fitting the cats for mot??? so that must mean your cars legal without them fitted![Nono](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/nono.gif)
i pay enough for tax so i'll make the most off it thanks

Hi guys, I'm just about to have my exhaust changed to a PPP system on my 05 STi to get around the annual bother of cat swapping. It has had a few mods done so it's not a standard car but nothing outrageous done to it.
Would i be better off getting an emission check first, or is it a foregone conclusion that my scoob will fail the test?
BTW looking forward to the gathering on the 31st.

Someone else has already said to PM
There is no way that anyone should put anything in writing here about so called 'dodgy places' they exist all over the place but I'm not naming them - that would be rather stupid
Of course with the new tests from a couple of years ago its not as simple now as just providing your old cert and getting a new one - now some people have to use Donor cars...........
I'm not saying I dont put a Cat in..... but I find the whole process very easy and it costs me £45 for an MOT..........
